I spoke with Patrick McGovern from Ascedia about political marketing and how traditional marketing mediums still hold value in the political world. We also discussed how Milwaukee’s top marketing agencies interviewed me around what corporate marketers can learn from non-profit organizations’ marketing campaigns.
I gave my advice for marketing, “you should base your campaign off of what is the best quality for the best targeting. We spend an awful lot of time defining who our market target audience is in politics, that even the nonprofit world doesn’t always think about… Billboards made a lot of sense during COVID because I could hit and make the explanation to my small governing board that nobody’s leaving a neighborhood. People still have to go buy gas, people still have to go buy groceries, so I’m going to go buy billboards in neighborhoods. Highway billboards wouldn’t have made any sense for me.”
