About Catalyst Campaigns

Strategic Communications Beyond the Traditional Playbook

Catalyst Campaigns is a strategic communications firm that helps organizations navigate complex public challenges
through narrative strategy, creative problem solving, and integrated campaigns.
Founded by strategist Scott Goodstein, Catalyst brings together communications, research, media, advertising,
digital engagement, grassroots mobilization, and cultural organizing to help organizations shape public opinion,
build support, and create meaningful change.
Because today’s communications environment doesn’t operate in silos.
Neither should your strategy.

Our Philosophy

EVERY ENGAGEMENT BEGINS WITH ONE QUESTION…

What problem are
we actually trying
to solve?

Sometimes it’s changing the narrative.
Sometimes it’s reaching an overlooked audience.
Sometimes it’s simplifying a complicated issue, responding to a crisis, influencing public
opinion, or building a coalition.
And sometimes it requires creating an entirely new campaign or approach.
Catalyst doesn’t begin with predetermined tactics. We identify the challenge, find the
strategic opportunity, and build the right communications strategy around it.

Catalyst Campaigns creates connections between
the world’s most influential organizations and
their audiences.
Over 20 years of developing narratives for engagement

  • Designers based in multiple time zones for rapid response
  • Cutting edge web development
  • Proven techniques for rapid response communications
  • Unique models for integrating art and culture into measurable actions

What Makes Catalyst Different

Traditional firms often separate public relations, advertising, digital, creative, media, and
organizing.
Catalyst integrates them.
Our work combines strategic communications, narrative development, audience
research, persuasion, rapid response, earned and paid media, coalition building, digital
engagement, grassroots mobilization, cultural organizing, and creative campaign
development.
That integrated approach allows us to see opportunities others miss and develop
strategies built around the problem-not around a particular communications channel.

Big challenges deserve bold solutions.

Catalyst Campaigns combines strategic communications, narrative development, audience research, rapid response, earned
and paid media, digital engagement, and cultural organizing to help organizations shape public opinion, mobilize supporters,
and create meaningful change.

ABOUT

Scott Goodstein

Scott Goodstein has spent more than 25 years developing
innovative campaigns at the intersection of communications,
technology, organizing, media, and culture.
He served as External Online Director for Barack Obama’s 2008
presidential campaign, helping pioneer the use of social media,
mobile communications, and cultural engagement in presidential
politics. He later founded Revolution Messaging and served as a
senior digital strategist for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential
campaign.
Throughout his career, Scott has worked with advocacy
organizations, labor unions, nonprofits, foundations, political
campaigns, artists, democracy initiatives, and international
organizations to develop new approaches to communications
and public engagement.
His work has consistently explored how emerging technologies,
creative storytelling, cultural organizing, and grassroots
participation can help organizations reach audiences traditional
campaigns often miss.
Today, Scott brings that experience to Catalyst Campaigns,
helping clients identify the missing strategy, develop compelling
narratives, and build integrated campaigns designed for an
increasingly complex communications environment.
